Anton Chekhov's Selected Plays (WW Norton & Co)

These new translations of Chekhov's five major plays and three of his one-act farces include variant readings from earlier versions and manuscript versions. Laurence Senelick's translation closely preserves Chekhov's singular style. Included is the largest collection of Chekhov's commentary on his plays ever to appear in an English-language edition along with essays aby leading European and Russian scholars.
